The Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Arkansas Club Newsletter
July 2006

Dear Rotarian,

WELCOME to the Fayrotales newsletter

Many thanks to past President John for a good year. John reported the Club gave out over $90,000 to over 30 organizations last year. With our good start from the FayrRo Classic, let's go for $100,000+ during President Laura's year. Load up those change cups, birthday envelopes and consider making more Paul Harris Fellows in the next few months. Follow our new RI President Bill Boyd to "Lead the Way" to a better community and maybe even a better world.

We welcome your feedback and comments ! Please e-mail them to A.D. Poole.

  • FAYRO SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Wrapup

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make our 2006 FayRo Tournament the best ever! Based on preliminary numbers, we anticipate total proceeds of approximately $23,000 to $25,000! Check out the list of winning teams and pictures which are now live on the Rotary Web site. We will be conducting a FayRo "de-brief" meeting for all committee members and other interested members in the next couple weeks to review what worked/didn't work and areas for improvement. Your input is appreciated as we start planning for our 2007 tournament.

Rotary Scoreboard at Lake Fayetteville Park

Our club recently dedicated the new scoreboard at Lake Fayetteville Park which we purchased with proceeds from the 2005 FayRo Charity Tournament. The state-of-the-art scoreboard features wireless control access. Rotarians at the dedication included: Top (L to R): Rick Bagwell, David Beauchamp, Kit Williams, John Tolleson, Thad Kelly and Paige Mulhollan; Bottom (L to R): Chuck Culver, Mieka Hatcher, Jimmie Beauchamp and Bear Graen.

    Medical Supplies Network Car Raffle

Don't miss the chance to get a new Ford Mustang convertible for only a $5.00 ticket, or five for $100 to raise your chances. See Tommy Lewis for tickets or get one at the greeting table at each meeting. The car will be given away at the District 6110 Convention in Tulsa Saturday September 16. It can be seen at Lewis Ford in Fayetteville until September. The proceeds will support the efforts of Medical Supplies Network in shipping much needed medical supplies to countries where the need is great.
