The Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Arkansas Club Newsletter
December 2006

Dear Rotarian,

WELCOME to the Fayrotales newsletter

Can't pass on repeating some of RI President Bill Boyd's word from December Rotarian: " ..the family of Rotary is important to us...Rotary is an organization of people who care - about their homes, their communities and each other. And caring is what family is all about. A key idea of the family of Rotary is that it encompasses the family of every Rotarian... Rotary's success depends on the support of every Rotarian and everyone in the family of Rotary. In a family, no one is any more or less important than any one else....All of us are working toward the same goals of better communities and a better world."

COMMUNITY SERVICE - Check Presentation to the Arkansas Voice Grandparent Project

On Thursday, November 16th, the Community Development Committee donated a $500 check to the Arkansas Voices Grandparent Project. The money will be used to buy Christmas gifts for grandparents who are part of the program.

COMMUNITY SERVICE - Homeless Student Program

Looking for a way to show your holiday spirit by helping those in need? For the second year in a row, the Rotary Human Development Committee is collecting donated items to support the Fayetteville School District's Homeless Student Program. This year we will be assisting with gift baskets for homeless families with children in Fayetteville public schools. Items needed include:
• Non-perishable food items (e.g. canned food, boxed macaroni and cheese, etc.)
• Personal care items
• Blankets
• Kid's back packs (for carrying school books)
• School supplies
• New kid's coats
• Laundry baskets (to be used as the gift basket)
• OR....save a trip to the store and give a few dollars (make checks payable to "Fayetteville Schools/Homeless Program")
There will be laundry baskets by the doors at each meeting through December 14th for the items you bring. Also, change cups for December will go to support this program. Thanks in advance for your help!

A special thanks to Clay Davis and the Human Development committee for their hard work on this program!
