Goodbye, Dear Friend

One of our most cherished club members and Club Secretary, Spencer Albright III, passed away Sunday, October 26.

We will all miss his wit and generous nature. If you have anything you would like to say about Spencer, email me here and perhaps we can put out a commemorative issue.

Oct 10: ROD Bucky Jones introduced Washington County Judge Jerry Hunton, who was gracious enough to fill in as a speaker at the very last minute. We enjoyed hearing him speak about how cooperative our Washington County elected officials are; he said there is a "courthouse full." Thanks to one of our own for an enjoyable program.

Oct 17: ROD Bucky Jones introduced Honorable Mike Beebe, State Senator from Searcy and Attorney General elect. Senator Beebe decided to present some political honesty, even though it might not make him very popular. He discussed the impact on our state of repealling the food sales tax, and the fight between AR and LA over the cost of electrical power plants. Beebe reminded us all that education is the top priority in our state.

October 24: Honorable Jimmie Lou Fisher, State Treasurer of Arkansas and nominee for Governor.

October 31: Honorable David Pryor, U.S. Senator from Arkansas - retired.
