Nov 21 : ROD Fred Vorsanger wrapped up Foundation Month by introducing Past District Governor Don Walker, head of the Polio Plus program. The success of the Polio Plus program has been phenominal, with only 7 cases reported worldwide this year.

Dec 5: ROD Warren Murray kicked off Health Awareness Month by introducing Dr. Roy Bredfeldt of Arkansas Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and his program, "Escalating Costs of Medical Care." Dr. Bredfeldt spoke of several causes of higher health care costs; his best solution for lowering them is for each and every one of us to "take charge of our own health."

December 12: Washington Regional Medical Center on their Hospice program.

December 19: Dr. Ted Fish, a local cardiologist, who will speak on the advances in cardiology.

December 26 - Day after Christmas ***No Meeting***

History

From Fayrotales 12/5/52: Rotarian Willard Walker joined our club. Willard is the manager of Walton's Variety [read future Wal-Mart ] store on the west side of the square [Bentonville]. Willard became a great benefactor to the community and university.

From Fayrotales 12/9/63:
Rotarian Col. John Martensen, on duty at Pearl Harbor on 12/7/42, gave an account of his experiences on that day.

Ring the Bell

We still need some substitue bell ringers for our annual Salvation Army bell ringing contirbution on December 13! Contact Karolyn to sign up for this fun day.

The 3-Way Test

Don Walker gave us a new twist on our own 4-Way Test - the 3-Way Test:

1. Is It Fun? 2. Will Anyone Get Hurt? And 3. Will We Get Caught? Thanks, Don, for this humerous rendition.
