Jan 16 : ROD Carol Green brought the International Culture Team from the University of Arkansas.

Jan 21: This was a joint meeting with the Northside Rotary Club, featuring our own Honorary member, Dr. John White, the Chancellor of the University of Arkansas. Dr. White provided an enjoyable talk regarding the famous Walton gift to the University, and related how an investment in the University provides huge returns. He also gave thanks ot our local Rotary clubs, since many of the students at the University are there due to scholarship money donated by our clubs.

January 30: EVENING meeting disguised as a social - the wonderful annual Mardi Gras party at Uncle Gaylord's.If you do not attend, you will be billed the normal lunch rate. If you do attend, you will be billed $15 per person. There will be a cash bar, and wonderful music by the Starlight 5!! Come play! We especially want new members to attend, so we can get to know you!

Feb 6: Dr. Gordan Morgan will kick off Black History and Women's month with a presentation by Mrs. Lorraine Bashop, who will speak on Fayetteville's oldest church.

 

A Mardi Gras History

Speaking of history, do you know the origins of the Mardis Gras celebration? You can go to the Winter Social tonight prepared to impress your fellow members with trivia about the festival by reading about it's history here.
