Calling All Info

If you are a Rotarian of the Month for one of the next twelve, please send your programs and speakers to the Editor for publication in this newsletter and on the website. Send them to grace@LNDDesigns.com. Also, if you have any events coming up that you would like the members to know about, send them to me.

July 3: ROD Doug Kuntz started this month’s programs off by introducing speaker Bill Pritchard, District 98 State Representative. Bill let us know that the Arkansas Veteran’s Home in the old Washington Regional building will become a reality with full funding. He suggested there might be a special legislative session in September to address the funding mandate of the state’s school systems, and reiterated what we club members already knew: the Bobby New could easily run all of Northwest Arkansas’ school districts!

July 10: ROD Chuck Culver introduced the City of Fayetteville’s Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator David Wright, who related some surprising and inspirational facts about our local parks. This park system is the largest in NWA, with over 3,300 acres of community parks and recreational complexes, including three fishing lakes! David assures us that his department is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of Fayetteville, Arkansas. You can read more about this department here

July: Rotarian of the Month Kim Smith will be presenting programs on the Government.

Rotary International’s New Look

Rotary International recently unveiled the latest version of its official Web site, www.rotary.org. The home page's streamlined design features an updated menu to help users navigate easily around the site. In revamping the navigation bar across the top of the home page, the names of several sections were changed and the link to the business portal was incorporated in the bar.
