Is Romania in Your Future?
Club member Howard Brill was revently honored by the Arkansas Bar Association at their annual meeting in Hot Springs, and received the James H. McKinsey Professionalism Award. Congratulations, Howard!

Newsworthy Member

Another club member, Mary Ann Greenwood, was featured on the cover of the Business Journal. Mary Ann is startng another branch of her business.

July 17: ROD Kim Smith introduced our speaker, the Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, W.H. "Dub" Arnold, who used a lot of humor to relate a historical accounting of how the justice system grew in our country.

July 24: ROD Fred Vorsanger inroduced Dr. James Rudzinski, Dean, College of Public Health. He spoke on the mission, role, and policies of the new College of Public Health and addressed areas of particular concern about public health issues in relation to the citizens of Arkansas.

July 31: ROD Jim Boyd presented Goveronor Mike Huckabee, who told us about his plan for meeting the constitutional madates handed to our state from the Lakeview decision. The Governor states that by changing the teacher/student ratio from 11-1 to 17-1, the state will save over 240 million dollars a year.

A free trip to Romania! The chance of a lifetime! Submit your application to lead a group study exchange to Romania in the late spring of 2004. And, if you know someone who exemplifies the ideas of Rotary, and is between the ages of 25 and 40, you can submit them for a Team Member to join the group! These applicants must be actively involved in a business or profession and cannot be the spouse, child or grandchild of a Rotarian. Contact Jack Butt by email or at 521-7600.

More proceeds from our Softball Tournament were given out, to the NWA Special Olympics and the Seven Hills Homeless Shelter. Another way we as Rotarians make a difference in our community!
