Centennial Project This month you can eat out at the 36 Club on Dickson Street and help support our Centennial Project. Bring in your receipt to a meeting and the project collects 10%. Philanthropy Awards Two of our members, Lewis Epley and Fred Vorsanger, were recently honored for their giving at the award ceremony. It is certainly an honor to be serving with these fine gentlemen! |
Nov 4: ROD Wayne Mays presented Larry Byron, Director of Operations for Rotary's Medical Supply Network. Larry recently visited South Africa, where he was able to see equipment donated by the group in every town he visited! He also requested donations for his newest drive to provide diapers to babies who are HIV positive; we responded by donating over $2,000! Nov 11: ROD Wayne Mays and Ted Brewer brought us a program about the Rotary Foundation and all it accomplishes, and the differences between the Annual Program Fund and the Permanent Fund, also known as the endowment fund. Rotary's goal is for every Rotarian to donate $100 into one of these branches of the Foundation every year. Nov 18: ROD Wayne Mays presented Noel Morris, Chair of the Wheelchair Foundation. This marvelous organization donates wheelchairs to those in need, including a student at Fayetteville High School. Noel told us how for every one person we help by providing a wheelchair, TEN people are affected. Their 2004 campaign is entitled "A New Life for All." $75.00 will provide a wheelcahir; to donate, contact Noel through the Springdale club.
