Paul Harris Fellows

We have several new Paul Harris Fellows: Ray Beaudreaux, Jill Gibbs, Don Moore, Bear Graen, and President Pat O'Brien, and Wayne and Barbara Mays have joined the Bequest Society. You can learn more about these programs here.

Membership Drive

District Governor Gerald Harp informed us that we are ahead of the Springdale club in the membership drive by two! Let's keep bringing those guests and seeking out potential new assets to our club.

Jan 6: ROD Paul Batson presented Wendy Soderquist of the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics and her presentation of "Power of Ethical Leadership." Wendy told us that very few people realize just how much they can influence. This organization deals in the corporate, non-profit, and academic arenas to customize development paths for their leaders, helping to equip them with the transforming power of ethical leadership in the work place.

Jan 13: From the top of Mt. Sequoyah, ROD Cheryl Spehar brought us Jay Havens, the Commodor of the Beaver Lake Sail Club. Started in 1968, and their first dock built in 1981, this club now boasts 120 members, 75 cabin boats, and dry storage for 30 boats. They have both spring and fall sailing races, and sailing lessons are offered; go to their website for details.

Jan 20: ROD Paul Batson gave us Michelle Wynn and Bruce Branch, who talked to us about the Mentoring Program for Children of Prisoners. A mentor spends about 1 hour a week with their child, helping to break the cycle of generational incarceration. It can be very fullfilling and rewarding to have such an involvement in a child's life. Contact Michelle Wynn if you would like to learn more at 751-3463.

Jan 27: Our annual Winter Social Mardi Gras, held at the Fayetteville Country Club, was a great success. Many were in attendance and Wendy Kumpe found the baby in the King Cake. Check out some pix from it here. Many thanks to the Fellowship committee for another well-done event.
