Committee Spotlight: Community Development

The Community Development Committee is concerned with the physical aspects of our community.

The committee members are:

Jim Foster, Co-Chair
Bootsie Ackerman, Co-Chair
Ray Boudreaux
Dianne Boyd
Jim Boyd
Ed Maxey

This year's focus is on the Botanical Gardens, and the Downtown Master Plan.

Accomplishments have been the timber frame construction for the new offices on the garden site, and money for the Dickson Street improvement project, including

a Rotary banner for one of the poles.

And of course, every quarter our club meets at some odd time on a Saturday morning at Root Elementary to perform the Curb the Clutter service, cleaning up a section of our city's highways.

Here's some of our happy club members sharing social time and doing a good deed!
