Softball Turnament

We're gearing up and it's time to think about YOUR contribution. We are seeking $200 level donors...consider grouping with three other Rotarians at $50 each to make this goal. And don't forget to volunteer when you are asked!

Service Above Self Banquet

Once again, it's time to honor those among us who exemplify Service Above Self. This year's June 2 banquet will replace our noon meeting and is at the Clarion again. Apr 7: ROD Jennifer Irwin brought us Debbie Potochnik of Rebuilding Together, which began 30 years ago. Originally named Christmas in April, and renamed 5 years ago, there are currently 200 chapters in the US. As the 7th largest home improvement project in the country, they change the lives of those they help and those of the volunteers. Find out more at http://www.rebuildingtogether.com.

Apr 14: ROD Cathy Foraker presented Eric Schuldt, Director of the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club.

Apr 21: ROD Cathy Foraker gave us Sharon Moone-Jochums, of the Easter Seals of Arkansas. The Easter Seals was started in 1919 by our own Paul Harris and a friend! There are now over 80 affiliates around the country. The Arkansas chapter began in 1944, and now has a staff of 450 and a budget of 14.5 million.

Apr 28: ROD Cathy Foraker presented Eddie Drilling, SBC State President. Eddie explained the rather convoluted past of our telecommunications systems in general and SBC specifically through some powerpoint slides. As one of the largest employers in our state, SBC provides telephone, satelite TV, high-speed internet, and cellular service to Arkansans.

Twin Club Project

A presentation of our second twin club porject in Istanbul, Turkey was made of of 3, $1,500 matching grants. The funds are to be used to buy macroscopic units for the Mothers and Childrens Hospital in Istanbul.
